Haibara (榛原郡; -gun) is a district located in Shizuoka, Japan.
   As of 2004, the district has an estimated population of 95,091 and a density of 126.88 persons per km². The total area is 749.45 km².

Towns and villages

History

  • April 1, 2004 - The town of Omaezaki merged with the town of Hamaoka from Ogasa District to create the new city of Omaezaki.
  • May 5, 2005 - The town of Kanaya merged with the long time twin city of Shimada, Shizuoka to form the new city of Shimada.
  • September 20, 2005 - The towns of Honkawane and Nakakawane merged to form the new town of Kawanehon.
  • October 11, 2005 - The towns of Haibara and Sagara merged to form the city of Makinohara.
